2024 Working Event
Our next face-to-face event will take place at the University of Basel (Switzerland) from June 22 to June 24, 2024, just after the next Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe Working Symposium. The full itinerary and registration link will be released early in 2024.
During the first Working Event in 2022, international journal editors convened to discuss several important issues, featuring guests from outside of pharmacy, to culminate in the Granada Statements, a set of recommendations for publishers, editors, reviewers, and researchers to enhance the quality and visibility of research in pharmacy practice that was published jointly in 11 journals.
Since that time the group has begun its own work on several facets of the Granada Statements, including creation of a portal that helps journal authors select the journal with the best fit for their paper and journal editors assist authors with an informal 'transfer' of papers from one Granada journal to another, as well as identification of a glossary of preferred terms for use in discussion of pharmacy practice and its research so as to make literature searches in our area more viable.
In this Working Event, journal editors and associate editors will plan next steps on continuing the glossary, take steps on evidence presented on factors that drive citations to make recommendations for authors and hone journal decision-making on submitted papers, and discuss mechanisms to attract best papers within the discipline and more submissions from outside pharmacy practice that are still germane to our journals' scope.
Only a very nominal registration fee (50€) will be required, and lodging options will be very affordable. These are important discussions and actions, and we hope that you will join us for this 2024 Working Event in beautiful Basel, Switzerland!!

You should fly into Basel Airport EuroAirport (BSL). It is located in France just a few kilometers from the Swiss border. You can get to the city with an easy bus ride of 15 minutes (Airport bus #50) to the Basel SBB railway station. If you stay at a Basel hotel, the reservation confirmation counts as a transfer ticket, and your travel to the city is free. From the railway station, you can walk or take public transport to the city center and recommended hotels.
